Follow Me Friday (2)

Q: What is one thing you wish you could tell your favorite author?

My Answer: Well in my case I have two favorites! So here goes…

Dear Alice Hoffman,
I want to thank you for all the wonderful books you have written that have been full of magical realism and whimsical and eccentric characters and places. The first book that I ever picked up by you was Practical Magic and today I still go back and read it over and over again. It was the first book that transported me to a place other than the four walls of my bedroom!

Dear J.K. Rowling,
Ultimately YOU are the reason why reading is now a passion of mine! Your books are the sole reminder of my childhood and one that I hold very dear. Harry and I became close friends and he often went everywhere that I did. I have read your books so many times that I cannot even begin to count. You made me see just how far my imagination could stretch. And you know what I learned? It’s endless!! I just want to personally thank you for creating a world that I could have comfort and limitless adventures in at the same time!

  1. Oohh, Hoffman! I loved Practical Magic too. I remember my mom's friend saying we needed to see the movie when it released and putting my foot down until I could read it first. LOL!

    Thanks for stopping by LIO!

  11. I read the Harry Potter books as an adult, but I never once felt like I was reading a kid's book. I think that's a huge part of what makes them so special- they captivate readers of all ages.

Thanks for stopping by! Following you back via GFC.
